This chick plays around my home town of Brisbane (Australia) and she’s got the best voice I’ve heard in a long time.

The first time I saw her play, I was a little hammered and, I must admit, I bought her album more to chat to her than with any intention of listening to it.

I threw it in the car stereo for the drive to work the next day, and it reduced me to tears. This song especially – it starts of quiet and breathy, but toward the end it reaches a crescendo Whitney Houston would be proud of. I had to pull the car over – I was a blubbering mess.

It’s a song about standing up for what you believe in, no matter how hard that might be. In a little over 5 minutes, I was taken on a journey through my formative years, and reminded of all the times I took the easy road, or sold out my morals, rather than sticking to my guns and doing what was right.

It’s a simple little song, but the emotion in Anna’s voice tears my heart out every time I hear it.
