This song is a page out of the diary of my life. It describes my thoughts, my feelings, and my moments of regret about the guy who was my best friend from childhood, and is now no longer in my life.

David was my sidekick, my partner in crime, and when we got older, he was basically my other half. We grew up in a small town, so all of my childhood memories include David. All of my Junior High memories include David. All of my High School memories include David. We even went to college at the local JC together, and that is where we began to admit our friendship was really “more”. That’s also where I freaked out, ran scared, and destroyed my relationship with David beyond repair. It’s been almost 4 years since David last spoke to me, and it’s devastating to me that David will no longer be a part of my memories.

But, you live, you learn, and you grow, and this song always reminds me to treat the people in my life like gold, and never again make choices that will take them away from me for good.
